“Hate to lose Jason Kidd man but damn I’m happy for him at the same time!”: LeBron James wishes former nemesis well after Kidd’s appointment as Mavericks’ head coach

LeBron James comes up with a bittersweet message on Twitter regarding Jason Kidd’s appointment as the new Dallas Mavericks head coach.

After a series of speculations over the last few years, Jason Kidd has finally found a new coaching job. The NBA Hall of Famer has joined Dallas Mavericks as their new head coach. The Mavs recently parted ways with their former coach Rick Carlisle who was at the helm for 13 years.

The Mavs had a decent campaign as they finished fifth in the Western Conference. Although they lost the series they fought really well against the Los Angeles Clippers in Round 1.

Their elimination led to several problems in the front office, some of which revolved around their talisman, Luka Doncic. Before Carlisle, the Mavs also parted ways with their long time general manager Donnie Nelson.

However now with Kidd in charge, Mavs will look forward to a more positive season. The 48-year-old has been plying his trade as an assistant coach with the Lakers for the last two years. He was an integral part of the coaching staff and was part of the Lakers unit that won the Championship after a decade.

Jason Kidd developed a strong bond with the Los Angeles Lakers’ talisman, LeBron James

This will be Kidd’s third coaching stint after managing the Milwaukee Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets. Being a Hall of Famer and one of the sharpest brains in the NBA, Kidd will like to form a good partnership with Luka Doncic. If they gel well then they can be mayhem for the other teams in the league.

Lebron James wished JKidd on Twitter with a bittersweet message. The King is disappointed to lose someone as influential as him but he is also happy for him. Actually, Kidd has formed a great camaraderie with the whole Lakers team. Among all of them, LeBron was his closest.

He joined the 2008 US Olympic team only to learn from JKidd and was always a big admirer of him. LeBron feels that the former point guard is someone who sees the game with his level of clarity. Hence their connection is very deep and the Akron Hammer will definitely miss his old guard.

For the Lakers, finding someone as influential as Jason Kidd will be very difficult. Even if they bring in a replacement, that person won’t be able to fill the void instantly. He also may not have a strong bond with LeBron James, something which JKidd had.
