“Ben Simmons with Stephen Curry = Ring guaranteed!”: NBA Analyst Stephen A Smith makes a bold claim about a trade package the Warriors can pursue
NBA Analyst Stephen A Smith has yet another bold take, claims a Ben Simmons to the Warriors trade would mean a sure championship
The NBA is down to the ultimate state. Only the best of the best remain, as we gear up for a potentially thrilling NBA Finals. While two teams battle it out for the biggest honor in the NBA, the other 28 are observing the same and making plans for the season to come.
Along with the teams, the media has also been getting busy with trade/free agency coverage. Everyone has their own ideas about potential trade packages and new destinations for stars who may be looking for a change. The few stars who have been in the midst of the entire rumor mill are Damian Lillard and Ben Simmons. Recently, ESPN Analyst Stephen A Smith had made a claim about how the Warriors may be interested in signing the Australian guard.
“Ben Simmons to the Warriors seals the 2022 Championship”: Stephen A Smith
Stephen A Smith was recently hosting his ‘Get @ Me’ segment, where viewers can send in their questions and Smith answers them. There, a fan asked how could the Warriors get back to title contention.
Smith answered and said,
“Best move is to get Klay Thompson healthy. You got Klay Thompson back–with a healthy Steph Curry healthy, a Klay Thompson–that’s the best shooting backcourt in the history of basketball. As far as I’m concerned, at least the trip to the conference finals is damn near automatic,”
“By the way, Wiseman is going to be good. Keep Draymond, and I’ll tell you if you can, get rid of Wiggins give up a couple of picks and go out there and trade that to Philadelphia for Ben Simmons. Put Ben Simmons in Golden State with Klay and Steph and watch what the hell happens. It would be special. They’d win the chip next year as far as I’m concerned.
While Smith has made a lot of wild assumptions in the past, this one actually has some ground to stand on. However, it is next to impossible to see Daryl Morey and the Sixers give away their young star for Andrew Wiggins and some draft picks.
