“Scary, scary, scary impact”– Max Verstappen out of British GP after nudge by Lewis Hamilton
“Scary, scary, scary impact”– Max Verstappen slides into barriers after a nudge by Lewis Hamilton during the start of the race.
The championship race between Red Bull and Mercedes has taken a surprising turn at Silverstone, as Max Verstappen is ousted from the race after receiving an impact from Lewis Hamilton.
Both drivers started the race from the first row and were giving each other the best they could, until things got ugly, as Hamilton touched the rear tyres of Verstappen, which made him spin into the gravel, and hit the barriers with full force.
The crash propelled the red flags immediately, and the race was instantly stopped. On the other hand, Hamilton also came under scrutiny, and while publishing this article was under investigation. The crash was so intent that it forced David Croft to spill out words “scary, scary, scary impact.”
The SkyF1 live blog revealed a snippet of the conversation by the Stewards, and it was revealed he will be penalized by the FIA for the impact, and obviously, pressure by Christian Horner to Michael Masi also became a factor.
“I feel that Max gave Lewis the room through there, but it’s so difficult when you’re on the inside, I don’t think Lewis hit the apex and that’s why he hit the rear end of Max. There’s a possibility he’ll get a penalty.”

Lewis Hamilton pleads innocence
While the crash looked horrific on the video, even after multiple re-watches, but Hamilton has claimed his innocence by insisting “that was my line. He turned in on me, man!”

Red Bull is in a mess
Already Sergio Perez was starting from the pitlane, technically meaning from the last spot, giving no hope for Red Bull for any significant contribution from him.
But Verstappen’s crash is a big blow, as at the most Hamilton would get a penalty, and Bottas is still up high on the grid.
