“Why is LeBron James talking about failure when he’s supposed to be the ‘GOAT’?”: Skip Bayless berates the Lakers superstar yet again on his NBA Finals shortcomings
Skip Bayless gets after LeBron James for talking about failure during the 2011 season and says that he can’t be the ‘GOAT’ due to numerous shortcomings.
The debate on whether or not LeBron James has surpassed Michael Jordan as being the greatest NBA player in the history of the league has been raging on ever since his 3-1 NBA Finals comeback in 2016 against the Golden State Warriors. It, once again, picked up quite a lot of steam following the Lakers’ championship in 2020.
Despite LeBron James having won 4 championships, many still don’t believe that he’s the ‘GOAT’ over Jordan; rightfully so. There are more arguments that favor the Bulls legend over James in the discussion for who the greatest is but that isn’t to say that an argument cannot be made in the Akron native’s favor.
Regardless of what fans believe, Skip Bayless’s belief in Michael Jordan has never wavered and with this, came a certain disdain for James.
Skip Bayless takes issue with LeBron James pointing out his failure in the 2011 NBA Finals.
LeBron James recently took to his Instagram story to re-post a couple videos from the Instagram account ‘LBJhistory’ that showed how he bounced back from being defeated by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals. The Miami Heat went on to win two consecutive titles over the Thunder and the Spurs.
Like clockwork, Skip Bayless took issue with this and ranted on about how James should not be shedding light on his failures. He later claimed that he cannot be the ‘GOAT’ due to the sheer number of how many times he’s failed on the biggest stage of them all.
Why would you talk about failing if you’re The GOAT? Because there shouldn’t be much failure on your resume. Unfortunately, LeBron’s resume is potholed with epic fails. More @Undisputed, now on FS1 https://t.co/q0VPcRnh7d

The irony behind it all is that Michael Jordan didn’t make it out of the first round for years and lost to the Detroit Pistons 3 seasons in a row before finally making it to his first NBA Finals in 1990. This doesn’t take away from the fact that Jordan is considered by most to be the greatest of all time, but it shows just how hypocritical Bayless can be at times.
