"Who know, we might get knocked out too": Giannis Antetokounmpo gets real about the Milwaukee Bucks' playoffs chances this postseason

Ahead of their postseason campaign, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo gets real about his team’s playoffs chances.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the league today. The Milwaukee Bucks megastar is a generational talent and has managed to clinch, virtually, all the major personal accolades over the course of his 8-year career. The athleticism and grit he plays with are unparalleled.

Over the past couple of years, Giannis has completely changed the face of the Bucks organisation. The team which had been lottery-bound for the past couple of years are now considered as the strong title contenders.

Despite having the best record in the 2019 and 2020 season, the Bucks have not been able to make a successful deep run in the postseason. Losing to the Toronto Raptors in 2019, and having a shocking exit against Miami in 2020, the bucks are yet to display their potential in the postseason.

One would assume that the Bucks team would be locked in and be more hungry than ever to have a great playoff. However, their 6-foot-11 Greek Freak’s doesn’t believe so.

“I don’t know if this postseason is going to be different”: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Entering the 2020-2021 season, the Bucks were looking like one of the favorites to win the title. The morale was high, the players seemed confident and the team looked strong. Behind the Nets and Philly, Milwaukee managed to clinch the 3rd seed in the East.

In an honest press conference, Giannis candidly spoke about his team’s postseason chances. Outright, the 242-pound power forward expressed how he didn’t feel that this postseason would be any different than the previous years. Antetokounmpo added:

“I don’t know if this year is gonna be different. I’m not gonna lie to you. It might be the same. Who knows. The results are gonna talk for themselves in the end. But at the end of the day, I don’t get too high, don’t get too low.”

“I feel like last year, probably because of the bubble I wasn’t able to get away from basketball. Like, losing a game and just going to the hotel and seeing the players that just beat you, you got too low.”

Seeing their 2-time MVP lack confidence would surely have an ill-affect on the team. Or could it also, maybe, be a cheeky technique by Giannis to get into his opponents’ head? Either way, we know for a fact that Giannis and his Bucks will give their best to win.
