“Giannis, Khris and Jrue over LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and AD?”: NBA fans roast Bleacher Report for questionable ‘Big 3’ ranking after 2021 free agency window settles down
Bleacher Report released a ranking of Big 3s across the NBA for next season. Giannis and LeBron James fans have been placed at loggerheads.
It seems that basketball fans always find something or the other to be annoyed at, every single day. Today, it was Bleacher Report’s turn to face some heat from NBA Twitter.
The reason for this is an article they posted regarding the NBA’s current Big 3s. They’ve ranked Kevin Durant and his Brooklyn Nets at the top, which is quite reasonable.
What’s gotten them from the frying pan into the fire is the list after the no. 1 rank. 2-time MVP and reigning Finals MVP Giannis, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday have been placed here.
LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis have been ranked at 3rd in this ranking. The justification given for this is related to the uncertain nature of the Lakers’ fit going into the season.
It’s a tough ask for anyone to pick one of 2 trios like this. LeBron and AD bossed the entire league together when they were healthy in 2020, winning the Lakers a championship after 10 years.
But at the same time, it is tough to downplay what the Bucks did this year also. Giannis put on the performance of a lifetime in the NBA Finals. Khris Middleton hit big shots all through their run. Jrue Holiday has established himself as the NBA’s best guard defender.

It’s easy for people to take a mild tone when their laid back. Unfortunately, it seems NBA Twitter isn’t ready to display that level of maturity any time soon.
The actual best big 3 ranking:
1 Nets: KD-Kyrie-Harden
2 Lakers: LeBron-Russ-AD
3 Bucks: Giannis-Khris-Jrue
4 Warriors: Steph-Klay-Draymond
5 Clippers: Kawhi-PG13-Reggie
6 Nuggets: Jokic-Murray-MPJ
7 76ers: Embiid-Ben-Tobias
8 Suns: CP3-Book-AytonHM: Heat, Jazz, Celtics

Any ranking list like this is a recipe for discussion, as well as some serious shade being thrown around.
Suns, heat, and the warriors should be above the sixers 😭😭😭

One of the criticisms of this list was how the Philly trio was placed at 4th. It’s a fair criticism to make as well.
Sixers aren’t a big 3

Ben Simmons is holding out with the Sixers’ FO for a trade away from Philly as we speak. So it makes little sense to rank them anywhere on a top list given the volatility.
