“Patrick Mahomes is a competitive prick”: Being Like Michael Jordan Could Be The Only Fatal Flaw Chiefs QB Has According To Kansas City OC Eric Bieniemy
Patrick Mahomes’s resume is already historic. In 3 years as a starter, Mahomes is an MVP, a Super Bowl MVP, and a Super Bowl Champion. And Eric Bieniemy believes a lot of that has to do with how overly competitive the QB is.
Mahomes’s talent is transcendent, but you still need to be crazy about football to have the resume that he has put together. And that has been evident ever since he took over the reins as the starting QB of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Many of Mahomes’ teammates and his coaches believe he is the most competitive guy they have seen, drawing comparisons to Michael Jordan and his drive to win.
Mahomes is only four years into his NFL career, including just three as a starter, but he already has an incredible resume that includes one MVP award, one Super Bowl title, one Super Bowl MVP and was 1 game away from going back-to-back as a Super Bowl Champion.
Jordan was elite ever since he entered the league, but even the GOAT didn’t achieve the success that Mahomes has at his age. Jordan won six NBA titles but didn’t get his first until his seventh year in the league. His first league MVP award came in his fourth season. So even though it’s tough to compare players across sports, Mahomes has clearly accomplished quite a bit already in what could be an unbelievable professional career.
Jordan was one of the most competitve players in NBA and sports history, and according to Chiefs OC Eric Beiniemy, Mahomes may have that same competitive mindset making him very similar to Michael Jordan.
Eric Beiniemy believes Patrick Mahomes is a competitive prick just like Michael Jordan
During one of the Chiefs’ media availability’s last year, offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy had an interesting comment for his QB.
“You guys have been around him — you know him,” said Bieniemy. “He’s a competitive prick. OK? He’s a great kid, but he’s a competitive prick. He wants to improve at everything he could possibly improve upon. He wants to be the best at whatever he can do. And along the way, he wants to make sure that he’s leading the guys, he wants to be held accountable by his peers, but also, too — he just wants to work. And that’s what you love about being around him every single day.”

Back in March of 2018, Mahomes’ former Chiefs teammate, Kareem Hunt, noted how no matter what they did — on or off the field — Mahomes was the most competitive person he new.
All-Pro wideout Tyreek Hill also weighed in on his offensive coordinator’s new term for Mahomes.
“I have not idea what he meant by prick, but I will say — Pat loves to compete, and each and every opportunity that we get to go against the defense, he wants to win,” explained Hill. “It don’t matter the situation, it don’t matter whatever it is, he always wants to win and he always brings the best out of each and every one of us, so that’s what I love about Pat. It’s doesn’t matter who you are — it doesn’t matter if you’re me, (Travis) Kelce or Fish (Eric Fisher) or whoever the case may be, he’s going to give you that extra fuel that you need to continue going.
“It don’t matter if we on play 10 and everybody’s on their knees, dead tired, he’s still [saying], ‘Guys, come on, come on, I need you.’ That’s the thing you got to love about Pat.”
