“I Can”: Russell Westbrook Jokingly Claimed He Could Shoot Better Than Reggie Miller And Steve Kerr

Russell Westbrook can do a lot of things on the basketball court. He can attack the rim, rebound, and facilitate the ball as well as anyone in the league.

The new Lakers guard is coming off yet another season where he averaged a triple double while leading the Washington Wizards to the playoffs alongside leading scorer Bradley Bearl.

Westbrook put up 22.2 points per game, a league leading 11.7 assists per game, and 11.5 rebounds per game. Those kind of stat lines are pretty much expected from Westbrook as the last season marked the fourth time in his career when he’s averaged a triple double for the whole year. Now, he’s set to join LeBron James and Anthony Davis on a strong Los Angeles Lakers squad that appears to be the title favorites out of the West.

However, one thing Westbrook has been bad at his whole career is shooting the three ball. He still found it in him to crack a joke once about his shooting ability.

Russell Westbrook Once Joked About Being Able To Beat Reggie Miller And Steve Kerr At Shooting

When you think of the greatest three pointer shooters in NBA history, several names come to mind. Steph Curry, Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, and Steve Kerr are some of the first names.

Curry and Allen definitely top the lists, but Miller and Kerr definitely held their own when it came to hitting from beyond the arc. Kerr holds the highest career three point percentage in NBA history at 45.4%, and Reggie Miller sits right behind Steph Curry and Ray Allen with the most made threes in NBA history at 2,560.

If you say you can shoot better than one of these players, you need to be either Steph or Ray. However, Westbrook decided his shooting skills were worthy enough to be in the conversation as those two players.

Westbrook is a career 30.5% three point shooter, so it’s a funny joke to make. He never quite developed a shooting stroke, perhaps one of the biggest drawbacks of his game.
