Lungi Ngidi gets gobbled up by CSK for just Rs 50 Lakh
Lungi Ngidi caught the imagination of the world in the 2nd Test against India, when he picked up a 5-for in the second innings.
Ngidi was drafted into the side for an injured Dale Steyn and grabbed his opportunity with both hands, troubling the Indian batsmen with his bounce and characteristic in-swing.
Ngidi then enrolled himself for the IPL auction and has now been gobbled up by CSK at his base price of RS 50 Lakh.
CSK came into day 2 of the bidding largely looking for three things.

They desperately wanted an opening batsman, a good seam bowler(domestic and foreign) and the exuberance of youth.
The CSK think tank did amazingly well to tick most of those boxes off in the pre-lunch session, getting Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar and Lungi Ngidi.
With Watson, Bravo, Tahir and Faf Du Plessis already in the mix, it looks unlikely that Lungi would be drafted into the side immediately, but he could be a good option when we get a good 6-7 games into the tournament.
Ngidi will be able to use his bounce to good effect and CSK would be hoping that his debut season in the IPL turns out to be one to remember for the young South African.
Current Auction Situation
CSK have already bought 5 overseas players, but will be going in for another overseas bowler and an overseas top order batsman.
Purse: Rs 11.6 crore.
The post lunch session would be of utmost importance to CSK as they will be hoping to find the correct balance.
