Chris Lynn suffers shoulder injury, could miss IPL 2018
Chris Lynn has once again damaged his shoulder, dislocating it this time during the the T20 Tri series final against New Zealand.
Lynn went off after the injury and was flown to Brisbane immediately for assessment. He later confirmed through the Cricket Australia correspondents that he will be missing the PSL and would be working on his rehabilitation in order to be fit for the Indian Premier League.
“I’m disappointed to not go to the Pakistan Super League as planned, but I’ll now focus on rehabilitation and working as hard as I can, with the hope to still take part in the Indian Premier League later this year,” said Lynn.
Lynn was supposed to ply his trade for the Lahore Qalandars in the PSL, but will undergo rehabilitation in Brisbane instead.
Lynn suffered the injury while diving for the ball, landing awkwardly on his shoulder and dislocating it in the process.
“Chris dislocated his right shoulder after landing awkwardly on it when fielding the ball.
“His shoulder was able to be put back into place at the ground and he was consequently sent for x-rays which revealed no major bone injury.
“At this stage Chris will not travel to the Pakistan Super League in Dubai.
“He will return to Brisbane to undergo further scans and assessment and from there we will have a better understanding of the ongoing management, along with the return to play timeframes.” said the Australian team physiotherapist, Alex Kountouris.
Lynn has shoulder problems all through his career, but it has been the left one that has troubled him up until now. Today, it was the right one that got dislocated and Lynn would be ruing his stars, with an important T20 franchise season coming up.
