AU-W vs IN-W Dream11 Team Prediction : Australia Women and Indian Women join hands for the 1st match of ICC Womens World Cup 2020

The stage has finally arrived and it will be India who will lock horns against Australia in the 1st match of the Women’s T20 World Cup. Both the teams have some special players in their ranks and we couldn’t have hoped for a better start to the tournament with two pre-tournament favourites fighting it out in the opening game of the tournament.

Not long ago both these teams contested in a tri-series and it was Australi who came out on top at the end. Both India and Australia defeated each other once in the group stage. India looked in a commanding position in the final of the tri-series. However, it was a sensational spell from Jess Jonassen which enabled the hosts to register a convincing victory in the end.

India will be hoping to get the best starts from Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma. Both these players have proved their worth at the highest level. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur needs to get back to form as she will be a lynchpin for the Indians in the middle order. The bowling department led by Rajeshwari Gayakwad looks in good shape.

On the other hand, Australia will be hampered by the injury sustained to Tayla Vlaeminck who is one of the finest Australian bowlers. They will surely need to get their combination right. Being the hosts, Australia will start as favourites. However, India is a star-studded team and it shouldn’t be a surprise if they upstage the mighty Aussies.

Pitch Conditions and Toss

The pitch at the Sydney Showground Stadium has been relatively on the slower side especially given the fact that the conditions has been overcast and it should be much of the same tomorrow. The team winning the toss could be tempted to chase as there are chances of rain hampering the match.

5 must-have players in the dream XI team

Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Jess Jonassen, Smriti Mandhana, Rajeshwari Gayakwad

AU-W vs IN-W Dream11 wicket-keepers

Allysa Healy will be the only wicket-keeper in our dream XI team. She had to be in the team especially given the fact that her Indian counterpart isn’t experienced enough and bats in the lower order. Healy is an experienced customer and has been a safe wicket-keeper behind the stumps. She hasn’t been in the best of touches but come the World Cup, she will look to lead from the front and make her presence felt.

AU-W vs IN-W Dream11 Batswomen

The two Indian batters in the dream XI team will be Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma. Mandhana has been in top form and has been scoring consistently for the Indian team. Mandhana’s knock of 56 kept India in the driver’s seat of the final of the tri-series. She also scored consistently all through the series.

On the other hand, Shafali Verma, the teenage sensation has already made a name for herself in the international circuit. She is a sensational striker of the ball which was on display during his whirlwind 49 against the Australian colts in one of the league games of the tri-series.

The two Australian batswomen in this dream XI team will be Beth Mooney and Ashleigh Gardner. Mooney has looked in great touch and scored 71 and 50 in her last two tri-series matches against India and England respectively. She should be an important player for the Australian women’s team.

On the other hand, Gardner is also a fine batswomen who has been scoring consistently for Australia and will look to make an impact in the mega event. She smashed a brilliant 93 in one of the group matches of the tri-series against the Indian colts and she will have some happy memories playing against the Women in Blue.

AU-W vs IN-W Dream11 All-rounders

Jess Jonassen, Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma will be the three all-rounders in our dream XI team. Jonassen proved her worth during the tri-series final against India when she bagged a 5 wicket haul and derailed India’s progress. She can also bat and give Australia some vital runs in the lower order.

On the other hand, Harmanpreet Kaur is one of the finest batswomen from either team. Her special knock of 171 against the Aussies in the 2017 World Cup is still etched in everyone’s memory. She is a sensational striker of the ball and should be a very important player for the Indian colts.

Deepti Sharma is a fine all-round player who was among wickets during the recently concluded tri-series. She bagged 8 wickets in the tri-series and also chipped in with some vital knocks in the lower middle order.

AU-W vs IN-W Dream11 Bowlers

Megan Schutt, Nicola Carey and Rajeshwari Gayakwad will be the three bowlers in our dream XI team. Schutt is the finest Australian bowler at the moment and her record speaks for itself. In 61 T20I’s she has bagged 76 wickets at a staggering average of 16. She was also in good wicket-taking form during the recently concluded tri-series.

Nicola Carey hasn’t been in the best of form off late but she had to be accommodated given the fact her credit was only 8. She could turn out to be a wildcard in our dream XI team.

The last member of the dream XI team Rajeshwari Gayakwad was the leading wicket-taker during the tri-series. She bagged 10 wickets in the series and provided India with the much-needed breakthroughs at the start of the innings.

Captain and Vice-captain

Beth Mooney will be the captain of the day while Smriti Mandhana will be the vice-captain of the day if India bats first. If Australia bats first, Ellyse Perry will be the captain and Smriti Mandhana wil be the vice captain.
