Alexander Zverev on the Whatsapp group with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal
Roger Federer’s resurgence in the Tennis circuit has caught everyone’s imagination, but what is more endearing to see is how fellow players on the circuit too have enjoyed this comeback.
Federer shares a very deep and intimate relationship with a lot of his ATP colleagues and having formulated the Laver Cup last year, it seems like Federer’s relationship with with the top ATP stars has become even more profound.
And apparently ‘Team Europe’ from the Laver Cup has a Whatsapp group, with Federer being the most active participant, entertaining all the members with his wit and humour, as revealed Alexander Zverev.
“Roger is the funniest among everyone, he likes to send jokes and funny videos,” Zverev told SportBild.
“You wouldn’t believe at it if you don’t know Roger. (Nadal) replies instead of sending something.
“Roger and Rafael have played many important matches against each other, but they get along well.” he said.
Great to see the camaraderie and the bonding between Team Europe.
Roger Federer has reached the summit of the ATP Rankings again, with that splendid performance in the Rotterdam, winning the title, schooling Dimitrov in the final.
Federer however would miss the Dubai Open, as confirmed by the Dubai Tennis Championship director Salah Tahlak.
Federer has a tough season ahead as he’ll have to defend a lot of points during the ‘Sunshine’ US Hard Court season.
Also, Roger hasn’t provided any update about his participation in the Clay Court season. It looks like Roger will miss the entire clay court season once again in order to rest and prepare well for Wimbledon.
