Barcelona don’t want Real Madrid to buy Willian
All eyes were on Eden Hazard when Barcelona came into town, as Chelsea needed their talisman to inspire them against arguably the best team in the world right now. But while Hazard had a very good game himself, it was a certain Brazilian in blue who led the charge for South London side.
Willian has been criminally under rated during his time at Stamford Bridge, as the Brazilian has often been over shadowed by his more illustrious team mates. Chelsea fans though understand and value the gifted attacker, as Willian has often been the shining light during some pretty dark days at the club.
Jose Mourinho’s disastrous third season was case in point, as Willian was the only player who walked out of that season with his pride and reputation intact. Unfortunately for the Brazilian, he was never favoured much by Antonio Conte.
Conte’s brilliant title winning Chelsea deployed two wing backs, bombing forward to support to Costa and Hazard up front. Pedro was often the third attacker in the team, as Willian found himself on the sidelines.
This season has not been much better for Willian, as Conte has struggled to find the correct combination for his team. The loss of Costa coupled with the profligate Alavro Morata has seen Hazard been played as a false nine, something that Conte deployed in the first leg against Barcelona.
Willian was brilliant in that game, as he struck the ball twice before eventually slotting the ball in on his third attempt. His performance apparently caught the eyes of the Real Madrid top brass, as they will now consider bringing him to the Bernabeu.
Messi and Coutinho have got wind of this fact, and have asked the Barcelona board members to sign Willian themselves. The Brazilian has previously mentioned that he would love to join either of the two Classico giants in the future.
“It’s everyone’s dream to play for these clubs. Of course there are other great ones, like the one I play for, Chelsea, and PSG, other greats.
“But these two are different. These are two that everyone has the dream to play for.”
