BREAKING: Drivers announce tyre choices for Australian Grand Prix
The Australian Grand Prix is just days away and the drivers have announced their tyre choices with defending champion, Lewis Hamilton, going in with an aggressive strategy, opting for just 1 set of soft tyres.
Hamilton will not have much fond memories of Australia from last year, as he lost out to Vettel and Ferrari in Melbourne, and maybe thus has decided to go all out this time round.

Hamilton is going in with three sets of red-banded supersofts and nine sets of purple-banded ultrasofts.
Pirelli was accused of going a little too conservative with respect to its compound constructions. The result of the comparatively ‘less soft’ tyres was that almost all drivers were using the single pit stop strategy, depriving all fans of the fun old days when different teams and drivers used to opt for 2 or 3 pit stop strategies, making the race very, very interesting.
These less durable tyres would now force drivers are teams to scratch their heads about a multi pit stop strategy.

Bottas too has gone aggressive with his tyre choices, opting for just one more set of softs than Hamilton.
Ferrari though have gone in with the conservative approach, with both Kimi and Vettel opting for 3 sets of softs and just 7 sets of ultrasofts.
Red Bull have found a middle ground, with both Ricciardo and Verstappen going in with two softs, three supersofts and eight ultrasofts.

Sirotkin has gone in with the same tyre strategy as Hamilton, and is looking to go all out for the Williams F1 team.
Alonso too hasn’t been too conservative with his strategy, going in with just 2 softs, 2 supersofts and 9 ultrasofts.
