‘15.9 million followers rich’ Shaquille O’Neal went to absurd lengths for a blue tick on Elon Musk’s $44 Billion worth twitter
Shaquille O’Neal is a funny guy, and there’s no telling what lengths he’ll go to sometimes. The story of how he got verified on Twitter, serves as a prime example of this.
Shaq served the better parts of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers. It was at the Staples Center where Shaq built his name, and it was where his legendary career took off.
After showcasing the raw talent he had with the Orlando Magic, Shaq knew it was time to win. The Lakers recognized this fact too, and the match was perfect.
Add in the fact that Shaq found his perfect running mate in Kobe Bryant, and the Lakers were unstoppable. They three-peated between 2000 and 2003, Shaq winning three Finals MVPs along the way.
Now, Shaq is a host on TNT’s Inside the NBA, and he’s stayed true to his character, making people laugh while having a good time with basketball.

Shaquille O’Neal had a hilarious way of getting verified on Elon Musk’s Twitter
Shaq is a big fan of Twitter, accumulating 15.9 million followers on there. Of course, Musk’s new rules about Twitter are still taking its effect, but back in the day, there were other ways to get verified.
Shaq wanted to prove his identity, so, he had a unique cash grab to make sure he could get the blue tick on Twitter. He posted a picture of himself, saying it was actually him, and he held up two Lakers tickets, saying he was giving them away. Immediately, Shaq was swarmed.
Shaq’s massive following showcases his brand
Now that we know Shaq is verified and that the person posting on his account is actually him, it’s incredible to think how big his brand truly is right now.
Other than the 15.9 million followers he has on Twitter, he has 27.8 million followers on Instagram. The massive following not only shows the support he has but also how incredibly valuable he is. Shaq currently has a net worth of $400 million. He’s built that massive fortune off smart investments.
Early on, he took advice from Jeff Bezos and started investing smarter, leading to bigger gains. He owns stakes in several businesses and restaurant chains.
