“Was Dennis Rodman a Rebound For Madonna?”: Charles Barkley Addresses Affair With Pop-star, Who Had Offered $20M to Impregnate Her
With the emergence of the rivalry between the Showtime Lakers and the Boston Celtics in the 80s, NBA players were no less than Hollywood celebrities. Although they weren’t on those teams, Dennis Rodman and Charles Barkley also got the benefit of being the stars of one of the top sports in the country.
Both the legendary forwards had a few things in common. Their likeness for gathering rebounds on the court and the gatherings off the court. Though Rodman was in it for all the fun, Barkley who got married early (in 1989) was a gambling addict.
They did reportedly coincide in dating Madonna at one point in time, but Barkley, after more than 25 years of those rumors has spoken about it.
Charles Barkley ‘only had dinner’ with Madonna, but did so ‘before Dennis Rodman’
Players of the 90s had the privilege of no mobile phone cameras or social media. They enjoyed a much more peaceful adult life than the players of today. And so dating somebody outside of marriage wasn’t as tough at the time even if you were dating the Queen of Pop.
Although there were strong rumors of Chuck dating Madonna after he became the MVP in the NBA, Chuck, on a recent appearance on the Dan Patrick Show denied those rumors and said he only had a dinner date with her.
Dan asked him whether it was a rebound from Barkley, that Madonna went to Rodman, but, being the Chuckster that he is, he answered and took pride that he “was before Rodman”.
Rodman and Madonna date for 2 months in 1994, so, Chuck is right on this one.
Madonna once offered Rodman 20 million to impregnate her
Rodman and Madonna, both not-so-media-shy celebs of the 90s openly dated each other during Dennis’ stint with the San Antonio Spurs.
But like his stay with the Spurs, his relationship ended with The Queen of Pop too soon as well. However, The Worm once claimed on The Breakfast Club that the “Frozen on Fire” star had asked him to give her a child.
The man went as far as to say she offered him $20 million on top of that. Rodman rejected the offer. Otherwise, the 61-year-old would have at least $20.5 million worth today. If only he had kept that money in a safe and lost the keys.
