“LeBron James Has Not Been Closing!”: Skip Bayless Blames 6ft 8” Star for Blowing 13-Point Lakers’ Lead

The Loss Angeles Lakers have won only 11 games this season. Considering they were 2-10 when the season began, even 11 victories seem a lot in comparison. However, the Lakers are by no means a competitive team. Their current record is just a little over 40% putting them in the 12th spot in Western Conference.

The Lakers are in deep trouble with their latest loss to Boston Celtics. The game brought to the forefront a major issue with the current team: they don’t know how to win. Even with a massive lead, they could not hold off the immensely talented Celtics squad and ended up throwing away a 13-point lead.

Skip Bayless, who is known for criticizing LeBron James frequently, has also spoken on the matter. Bayless, while speaking to Shannon Sharpe, blamed LBJ for the loss.

Skip Bayless calls out LeBron James for the recent loss

While on his show undisputed, Bayless made some astute observations. He called the Lakers the weirdest basketball team he had come across. Skip also pointed out how the Celtics had back-to-back games and yet managed to beat the Lakers even after blowing a 20-point lead at first.

Skip even mentioned how when the Celtics played, they looked ‘sagged’ at first. He even gave credit to the gold and purple for their first comeback from 20 points. But the pattern the Lakers seem to have built of blowing leads has been a matter of concern for the former ESPN analyst.

The Lakers need a miracle

The gold and purple need answers quickly. The dream of playing in the playoffs seems to be slipping out of their reach with each passing day. But Darvin Ham is yet to make conclusive changes to the squad.

On paper, the team is interesting. It’s a good mix and match of veterans and potentially good youngsters. But at the end of the day, the problem still lies with how the lakers squad is former. Even with the trio of Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and Russell Westbrook, the lakers have not been threatening in the slightest.

This team desperately needs a few talented youngsters who have proven their worth. They need better off-the-bench role players who can fight their own battles. Rob Pelinka and Ham have some crucial decisions to make before the transfer window ends.
