Lowest T20 score: Lowest score in T20 cricket history full list

The fifth match of the ongoing 12th season of the Big Bash League between Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers at the Sydney Showground Stadium has been etched in history due to the hosts registering the lowest-ever T20 innings total.

Chasing a 140-run target, Sydney Thunder were quite embarrassingly bundled out for 15 in 5.5 overs. Not known for performing well at their home ground, Thunder have earned an infamous record in front of their home spectators on the back of becoming the first-ever team to lose all their wickets within the powerplay of a T20 innings.

The shortest innings (by balls bowled) in the history of the format was hard to digest even for Adelaide Strikers as their players were short of words amid unprecedented bemusement by the happenings on a Friday night. In addition to finding themselves in an elite list, Strikers have also done their NRR (Net Run Rate) a hell lot of favour by winning their second match of the season by a gargantuan 124-run margin.

An innings which comprised of a total of five ducks, a few top-order batters from Thunder were found guilty of playing rash shots. The others, however, just didn’t look competitive enough to face the likes of Henry Thornton and Wes Agar. With both the right-handed pacers bowling full and straight, finding edges seemed to be an obvious task for them tonight.

Assisted incredibly well by their fielders, Thornton and Agar picked nine wickets between them. Playing only his 11th T20 on his 26th birthday, Thornton picked career-best bowling figures of 2.5-1-3-5. Agar, on the other hand, played a proper second fiddle with his figures of 2-0-6-4.
