“Confirmed”: Russell Wilson To Start Christmas Day Game Against Rams & Broncos Fans Are Calling It The Opposite Of a ‘Miracle’
Russell Wilson has had a terrible year thus far. When he was first roped in by the Denver Broncos during the offseason, everyone thought that with his class and experience, the man will take the franchise to great heights.
To be fair, not even his worst enemies would have thought that he will perform so badly for his new franchise. Right from the first game till now, Wilson has consistently failed to make plays under pressure.
In fact, the condition has been so bad for the Broncos that their game against Kansas City was shifted from primetime to a less important spot to save the fans from another one-sided boring clash.
To make matters worse, Wilson sustained a head injury against the Chiefs and was placed on concussion protocol a little while ago. However, he was cleared to play against the Cardinals and the QB himself expressed interest in taking part in the clash.
Russell Wilson will start the Christmas Day game
However, the Broncos administration decided to bench him and gave a chance to Brett Rypien to show his prowess as a QB. As it turns out, Brett was able to guide his team to an impressive one.
For 197 yards, Brett had 1 TD and 1 interception to his name against the Cardinals. Despite a slow start to the proceedings, the Broncos were able to thrash the Cardinals 24-15.
While Brett’s performance was not outstanding by any stretch, many fans still thought that he will get another go. As it turns out, Brett might have to wait a little longer to get another game under his belt as Wilson is slated to start against the Rams next week.
“Russell is going to be playing next week, but I thought Brett did a really good job,” Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett said, as reported by ProFootballTalk.
As expected, fans started reacting in numbers as soon as the Wilson update came out. Many called it the opposite of a Christmas miracle.
