“Nikola Jokic is the Most Skilled Center Ever!”: Kendrick Perkins Goes Wild About the Joker Amidst Incredible Win vs Grizzlies
The Denver Nuggets aren’t doing too badly at all this season. Despite the iffy nature of Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr.’s health, the franchise is currently sitting pretty at the 2nd seed in the West.
During this stretch, Nikola Jokic has been pretty incredible. In fact, experts are having a hard time denying him a third-MVP award in a row, despite voters’ fatigue. And his showing against the Grizzlies only added to that fact.
In fact, even Kendrick Perkins has been left absolutely flabbergasted by just how good the Nuggets star is.
Kendrick Perkins gives Nikola Jokic a pretty hefty compliment on Twitter
Kendrick Perkins has become known for being one of those analysts that loves going to the extremes. In fact, it has almost become a sort of signature move of his, a calling card of sorts.
However, even by those standards, his most recent tweet about Nikola Jokic really is quite something.
Here is what he posted about the player on the social media site.
Jokic is the Most Skilled Center to ever touch the damn basketball. You can go argue with ya mama and Carry the hell on…
— Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) December 21, 2022
Frankly, while it isn’t exactly unanimous within the NBA community, it is a bit difficult to argue with Kendrick Perkins’s statement here.
At the end of the day, the Joker can do it all. And if he wins yet another MVP because of it, there is some NBA history we need to talk about.
Nikola Jokic could become the first NBA player to win three consecutive MVPs since Larry Bird
Larry Bird played basketball a long, long time ago. And yet, despite the NBA evolving as much as it has since his hay day, Larry Legend is considered by many as the greatest small forward of all time.
Among the many things Larry Bird achieved during his career, was the MVP award. But, he didn’t just do it once. He didn’t just do it twice.
No, no, no, he won three consecutive MVPs, a feat he achieved in 1986. And it is one that hasn’t been matched ever since.
But now, here in what is nearly 2023, Nikola Jokic has the chance to match this mind-boggling NBA record.
And as of this moment, it’s looking very likely he will achieve it.
