PAK vs NZ commentators 2022: Pakistan vs New Zealand Test series commentators list
Pakistan captain Babar Azam (161*) and former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed (86) shared laurels on the first day of the first Test match against New Zealand in Karachi today. Both the right-handed batters scored a ninth Test century and 19th Test half-century respectively to put their team in a commanding position.
Although Azam’s decision of electing to bat first after winning the toss wasn’t a bad one but three top-order batters getting out whilst wanting to play high-risk shots resulted in them losing quick wickets in the morning session.
Since then, Azam and his predecessor joined hands to put together 196 runs for the fifth wicket in what was their first Test innings together in almost four years.
Azam, 28, registered his eighth Test century in Asia, seventh at No. 4, sixth at home, fourth in 2022 and as captain, third at the National Stadium and second against New Zealand to achieve a world record in the process. Set to resume his innings alongside Agha Salman (3*) tomorrow, Azam would be eyeing a maiden Test double century.
Ahmed, 35, playing in place of vice-captain Mohammad Rizwan, provided a rationale behind a bold move made by both the team management and the recently elected selection committee. Playing an international match after 13 months, Ahmed looked in supreme touch in the middle in spite of suffering a hip niggle.
