The Dallas Mavericks just completed an unbeaten 3-game homestand and are on a five-game win streak. A huge credit for their success goes to their 23-year-old star, Luka Doncic. The Slovenian Sensation has been on a tear, averaging 40.4 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 10.4 assists over this five-game span.
With their recent success, the Mavericks have climbed up the rankings in the West, and sit on the 6th seed with a 20-16 record. If they keep playing the way they have, they might soon be able to catch up with the 4th-seeded Clippers and the 5th-seeded Kings.
Mavericks head to San Antonio tonight and Houston on 2nd for a quick two-game road trip. The biggest question all fans have is whether Luka Doncic will play tonight.

After the recent outburst and success, many fans are worried about Luka Doncic burning himself out. However, they need to remember he’s just 23. He can continue to play like this on a high level, as long as he takes proper care of himself.
However, something that might bother the Mavericks fans would the injury report their team released recently. In the injury report, Luka Doncic has been listed as questionable.
Luka Dončić (left ankle soreness) is probable for tomorrow night’s game in San Antonio.
Dorian Finney-Smith (right adductor strain), Josh Green (right elbow sprain) and Maxi Kleber (right hamstring tear) will remain out.

The Mavericks might be looking to rest Doncic to give him some time off, and get him prepared for the upcoming games.

Can Luka win MVP this season?
With the way Luka has been playing, he’s constantly been on the MVP ladder. He’s jumped up to the 3rd spot this week, after being tied for the 7th spot last week.
So far this season, he’s averaging 33.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game. If he continues to keep this pace up and lead the Mavericks to a playoff berth, he surely would be in serious conisderations to win the Michael Jordan MVP honors.
