Will Tua Tagovailoa Play Against The Patriots on Sunday After Suffering His Second Concussion of The Season? Dolphins Issue Injury Update
Prior to Week 17, the Dolphins were already in a slump, having suffered four straight defeats following a humiliating loss to the Packers. Now, their quarterback’s future is in doubt. Prior to a crucial game against the Patriots, Tua Tagovailoa sustained a head injury on Christmas Day against Green Bay.

The Miami Dolphins have acknowledged that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa concussed during the team’s Christmas Eve loss to Aaron Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers, 26-20.
After being shoved to the ground in the final two minutes of the second half, Tagovailoa suffered a concussion. The quarterback had a strong first half against the Packers but had a concerning decline in performance in the second.
Tua Tagovailoa’s Injury Update
Due to his second concussion of the season, Tua Tagovailoa has been officially ruled out of the week 17 game against the Patriots. The experienced Teddy Bridgewater will start and has been working primarily with the first team this week.
Additionally, quarterbacks Kyle Lauletta and Jack Coan underwent trials with the Dolphins, but as of Friday afternoon, neither had been added to the practise squad.
For Tagovailoa, this season has been full of ups and downs. After a strong start, he progress was derailed by a concussion controversy. He recovered and briefly returned to the MVP conversation, but the Dolphins and their third-year quarterback are under tremendous pressure going into January as a result of the recent run of defeats.

The Dolphins quarterback has been placed in the NFL’s concussion protocol twice already this year after sustaining a head injury during the team’s loss to the Packers on Christmas Day. This was the quarterback’s second head injury of the year.
The NFL tightened its rules on when a player needs to be put into protocol after Tagovailoa suffered a severe concussion in late September, but his first concussion wasn’t detected by the independent neurologist and he played again. More players appear to be adhering to protocol as a result of the new emphasis.
