Charles Barkley is one of the most entertaining players in NBA history. The man has never failed to get a laugh both on and off the basketball court.

The man just has a nose for humor and more often than not is at the heart of some of the most hilarious situations. That being said, there are times when he has been unintentionally funny.

Like the time when he happened to run into Conan O’Brien, who was on his honeymoon. Upon meeting him, Sir Charles decided to send Conan and his wife an Appletini. Why? Because he looked like he drinks them.

Charles Barkley once sent Conan O’Brien an Appletini because he looked like he enjoyed them

Conan O’Brien is one of the funniest men on planet earth. The comedian-turned-talk-show host is notorious for his great skits, pranks, and generally humorous nature.

Well, one time when he wasn’t being funny was when he decided to take his wife on a trip to Atlanta, Georgia. Where they visited a number of Civil War sites. Not the most romantic trip, but luckily for Conan, Hall of Famer, Charles Barkley was there to save the day with two Appletinis.

He recalled the incident on a recent episode podcast.

“This is my fun story. We went back, we pull into Atlanta and we go into our hotel and we’re sitting in the lobby of the hotel and a waiter comes over and hands us each an Appletini. They were in these nice glasses, and we didn’t order these. So we said, “We didn’t order these Appletinis!”, and he goes, “Compliments of Mr. Barkley,” and Charles Barkley was at the bar. And, I had never had an Appletini before, but I went up to the bar and asked, “Sir Charles! Why the Appletini!”. He said, “You look like a guy that would drink an Appletini!”. Needless to say I love Atlanta!”

An entertaining story to say the least. An Appletini is a drink that contains vodka. Ironic, seeing as Barkley owns his own brand of alcohol now.

Sending over that drink was a kind gesture on Sir Charles’ part. Perhaps next time he can send one over with his own vodka in it. After all, Barkley is now the proud owner of his own vodka brand, Redmont Vodka.

The Chuckster is now part of an exclusive group of athletes that own their own liquor brand. Joining the likes of LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Terry Bradshaw, and more.
