LeBron James’ Son, Bronny James comes 3rd in LS Invitational, First Victory or Defeat? You Decide
If his dad is the benchmark, young Bronny James would have felt bad to lose. But failures are just the stepping stones to success, ask LeBron James, who lost two NBA Finals before winning his first championship.
Young Bronny’s Sierra Canyon, which is the 16th-best high-school team was supposed to be the favorites. The Les Schwab Invitational was supposed to be the tournament. Yet, fate doesn’t work that way.
We seldom get what we want. Bronny’s Sierra Canyon, all high and mighty went into the semi-finals with a lethargy that wasn’t indicative of champions. Their opponents had two players scoring more than 25 points.
Bronny James’ team needed the semi-final loss
West Linn High School beat Bronny’s Sierra Canyon by 17 points and exposed the team’s fallacies. Sierra Canyon Trailblazer’s untimely exit also meant that they were able to collectively take the blame.
For a team expected to reach the championships and not make it, it was a big deal. Bronny would not have liked that and his team did everything they could to answer the reasons for their loss.
And they pointed out that their lack of defensive effort was the reason.

How it can help Sierra Canyon galvanize their efforts
Bronny, just like dad, LeBron, learned his lessons and helped Sierra Canyon notch up a victory in the 3rd place game.
They walked away with the victory and a 3rd place medal. Not bad for young LeBron James Jr’s first major tournament.
And it is small failures early on that can help them figure out their worth. We think despite their overall loss, it was a big win for the young boys, and they will get stronger from this setback.
