Tim Paine hails Jos Buttler as better wicket-keeper than MS Dhoni
Australian ODI captain and wicket keeper Tim Paine has praised English keeper batsman Jos Buttler and called him greater than legendary Indian cricketer MS Dhoni at the moment.
In the last ODI, Australia scored 205 courtesy steady innings from Aaron Finch and D’arcy Short on a wicket that was difficult for batting. This was was quite decent score if the bowlers bowled well.
Billy Stanlake and Marcus Stoinis bowled tight line and lengths and did not allow the English batsman to get away. As a result, the England innings collapsed and at one point came very close to a defeat.

However, it was Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 110-run knock that took England to victory with only one wicket remaining. With this, England clean swept the five match ODI series against Australia 5-0.

In the post match press conference when Paine was asked about Jos Buttler, he was all praise for the English keeper, “He’s good, he’s very good. Right now, at the moment, he’d have to be the best white-ball wicket-keeper batsman in the world.
“I don’t think there’s too many guys to challenge him. MS Dhoni is pretty good, but right at this moment, Jos is at the absolute peak of his powers. He understands his one-day game so well and knows his strengths inside out and just doesn’t go away from him.
“He’s someone for our batters to watch and see first hand. Those experiences are going to be really good for D’Arcy Short or Travis Head to see him and Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy at their best,” Paine concluded.
