6ft 8in Luka Doncic Once Got a 4ft 7in $11,000 Car as a “Birthday Present”
Luka Doncic made waves when he rode in an apocalypse truck just a few days ago. But did you know, he once got a car that was half his size as a birthday gift?
Yes, as bizarre as that sounds, it’s true. And well, that’s another thing you need to know about Eastern Europeans. They are just a very different group of people.
They are eccentric to a fault. Whimsical in their ways, while they were serious about their gestures, in the west it is viewed as almost comical.
And so is Luka’s case. A car for your 18th birthday is the best present you could think of. Except when you’re a 6′ 7″ teenager, the car should also be your size.
Luka Doncic got an $11,000 car, half his size as a birthday gift
Yes, while the car was a nice idea, the mismatch in size is just hilarious. The gift, which was a Serbian Zastava 750, only stands a mere 4′ 7″ tall, which is about 2 whole feet shorter than Doncic.
The Mavericks superstar even posted it on his Facebook page and he was overjoyed. Of course, back then he was just breaking into the Real Madrid team and had no money for expensive cars.
Nowadays, he has no problem pulling up in an apocalypse jeep that is worth well over $200,000! Talk about an upgrade. And not to forget, he is quickly learning American humor too.
Luka and the Mavericks have to pivot
While he may be grabbing headlines with his style, cars, and flashy play, he is in a team that needs to change – radically. The Mavericks are the 5th seed but it is all on the back of Doncic.
Without him, they don’t have an identity. They are stuck in gear. And as a result, they have gone 0-4 without their Slovenian Wunderkind.
The glaring errors in Mavericks’ games have resulted in Doncic, finally stamping his authority. The young phenom has asked for the team to make necessary upgrades before the trade deadline.
The date is February 9th and if the Mavericks don’t shop before that, you might see a displeased Luka. That can lead to the superstar packing his bags and heading to one of the coasts.
Dallas has to do everything in their power to keep him. He is a mercurial, once-in-a-lifetime talent. If they let him go, they will inevitably suffer.
