“Fernando Alonso Already Knew…” – Aston Martin Reveal Why the 2x Champion Signed With Them
The silly season of the 2022 season erupted into chaos as Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement and Fernando Alonso decided to replace him at Aston Martin.
Half the paddock went through driver shuffles with many heartbreaks and many surprising turns of events. But as it happens, Aston Martin team boss Mike Krack says that Alonso knew everything and he made an informed decision about moving to Aston Martin.
Ever since the 2-time world champion has been announced as the Silverstone-based team’s driver, there have been talks about Alonso being a tough driver to deal with.
But even at the age of 41, the Spaniard has no plans to leave the sport behind. Instead, he wants to claim another championship title.

Fernando Alonso has contacts everywhere
All teams at some point express their desires to grab the title or come up with a three-year or 100-race plan to fight for the title.
In the case of Aston Martin, these are not just words, claims team boss Krack. The Silverstone-based team recently invested in a multi-million dollar factory with wind tunnels and new simulators.
Krack believes that they are on the right path towards success and that all these investments will only be fruitful.
About Alonso signing with the team, Krack said that the ambitions of the team are credible and Alonso was clear about it. He revealed that the team did not even have to convince him. The Spaniard already had knowledge about it. Alonso has contacts everywhere.

Alonso is key for change in Aston Martin
The two-time world champion will take a seat alongside Lance Stroll in the 2023 season. With the season yet to start, the Spaniard already drove the team’s 2022 car as part of the post-season testing in Abu Dhabi.
His feedback to the team’s deputy technical director, Eric Blandin had a lot of impact on the new AMR23. Blandin revealed that Alonso’s feedback was quite precise.
Alonso was able to communicate his requirements from the car easily and immediately spotted a few things that needed to be fixed.
