When Is Zion Coming Back? Is Zion Williamson Injured?
The New Orleans Pelicans have gone through a rough stretch in 2023. To start the year, Zion Williamson was diagnosed with a hamstring injury. When he got injured, the Pelicans were a Top-3 team in the West. Since his injury, the Pels have had an 8-17 record.
This has pushed them down to 10th seed in the West. They’re 1.5 games behind the 6th-seeded Mavericks. Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum have been playing well as of late, but the initial gap left behind by Zion was too big to fill.
Initially, Zion was supposed to be out for 3 to 4 weeks, but then after re-diagnosis, he seemed to have re-aggravated the injury. Recently, a new report was issued about the 2023 All-Star Starter.

Zion Williamson will undergo imaging next week
Zion Williamson was ruled out for the 2021-22 season with a foot injury. After that, he returned this season and played with them for 29 games with the team. Zion averaged 26 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.1 steals for the time. This earned him his first All-Star start. However, Zion could not recover in time to play in the celebratory event.
Recently, ESPN’s Marc J. Spears gave an update about the former #1 pick.
Pelicans say Zion Williamson continues to make progress with rehabilitation for his right hamstring strain. Further updates will be provided following medical imaging next week.

From what’s predicted, the imaging could show us that Zion could be back as soon as mid-to-late March, or he may be ruled out for the season. In either case, the Pelicans are going to be without the services of their star for the majority of the remainder of the season.
This is a shame for the Pelicans, who just signed the 6ft 6″ forward on a rookie supermax extension during the offseason. The deal does make sense, but not with the amount of games Zion misses. When he’s on the floor, he’s a constant 20-10 threat.

Hopefully, the former Blue Devil comes back soon and silences all the doubters and haters.
