Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions announced for PC and consoles

The release of Hogwarts Legacy earlier this year was a slam dunk for potterheads. However, despite the game nailing the atmosphere and theme of the J.K Rowling universe, a crucial piece was missing. With Quidditch failing to make an appearance in the RPG many fans were disappointed. However, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is her to fill the void.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions playtest signups begin

Announced today, Quidditch Champions is a “fast-paced, competitive multiplayer game featuring the world’s most iconic magical sport,” according to WB Games. Portkey Games will be the publishing label under which the game releases.

As of now, the platforms on which the game will release have not been specified. However, the FAQ on the WB Games website states that consoles and PC are targeted. Whether this includes last gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One remains to be seen.

The developer behind the game is Unbroken Studios, who is said to have been working on the game for several years. This makes its absence in Hogwarts Legacy a lot more plausible, as another in-house studio was working on a more complete version of the sport.

Since Quidditch Champions is a multiplayer game, the developers have confirmed that an always-on internet connection will be required. Whether or not players can practice offline remains to be seen.

As of now, very few details have been revealed aside from the fact that character customization is coming to the game. Additionally, Quidditch Champions is a standalone experience, not requiring Hogwarts Legacy or any other game to play.

As of now, no release date or window has been provided for the title. Currently, limited playtests are going on that players can sign up for here.
