“Don’t Care About LeBron James, He’s Old”: Dillon Brooks Goes At 38 Year Old Lakers Star Following Game 2 Win
The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t have the luxury of 4 players scoring 20+ points in Game 2 against the Memphis Grizzlies. With LeBron James and Rui Hachimura combining for more than half of the purple and gold’s points, the Lakers looked quite disheveled on the offensive end of the floor.
All throughout the game, Dillon Brooks, one of the finest instigators in the NBA today, was chirping at the Lakers. As Memphis started to control the game, the trash talk became even more prominent. Los Angeles didn’t seem to respond all too much to the trash-talk and understandably so given that they couldn’t pull off getting a lead.
James finished the game with 28 points on 12-13 shooting from the field. Brooks shots 5-14 from the field and had 14 points while knocking down crucial 3s late in the game.
Dillon Brooks on LeBron James being old
Seems as though Dillon Brooks really is trying to get under LeBron’s skin by making comments about him postgame in the locker room. When asked about the James matchup and the trash talk that they exchanged on the court, Brooks simply called him old and that he doesn’t care about him.
Dillon Brooks on his confrontation with LeBron James:
“I don’t care. He’s old…I poke bears. I don’t respect someone until he gives me 40.” 👀

LeBron James did call Brooks a ‘motherf**king bum’ on the court in Game 2 but unfortunately for the purple and gold, the Grizzlies got the last laugh tonight. Expect this level of intensity to continue on when the Grizzlies fly West to take on LA in the Crypto arena for Games 3 and 4.
Brooks would also go on to say that he doesn’t care about LeBron because he hasn’t dropped 40 points on him yet. While this is true, he did have a 37-point game against Memphis in 2021. Looks like Brooks somehow wants perhaps the greatest player in NBA history to earn his respect.
