Bernie Ecclestone arranged the Force India deal

Force India was forced into administration when Sergio Perez and Mercedes initiated legal proceedings against the team, being one of the many creditors.

Sergio Perez admitted that he had no other choice but to go ahead with the difficult decision, as 405 jobs were on the line.

It was a tense week or two for Force India, as the future look uncertain, bleak.

However, a few days back, a Lawrence Stroll led consortium helped Force India come out of administration.

Stroll and co. have provided some much needed cash influx into the system and paid off the creditors.

And while Lawrence Stroll was always in contention to buy Force India, Bernie Ecclestone was involved in the deal as well and apparently he helped Stroll and co. get the deal

In an interview with Forbes, Ecclestone had revealed before the deal had come to fruition that he had been working with Force India over the deal.

“I think Lawrence is the most likely bidder,” he said as quoted by Forbes.

“He is going to buy it, I’m pretty sure. It will be sorted out within a few days and I don’t have any fears that it’s not going to be all right.

“I’ve spent all morning with the people on the Force India business,” he added.

Ecclestone’s business acumen would have come in handy for Stroll and the consortium to get through with the Force India deal. Ecclestone was the commercial king of F1 for a large part of his century and would his ideas would have come in handy to get Force India safely out of administration.

Force India now have a challenge on their hands as they’ll need to quickly recover from this setback and ensure that the transition in the top management(and the owners) doesn’t quite affect the work on the race track.
