LeBron James, Who Dreams of Playing in The NBA With Bronny James, Says Watching Bryce James And His Sons ‘Keeps Him Young’

LeBron James says his last NBA goal is to play on the same team as his son. Apparently, watching them (Bryce James and Bronny James) ‘keeps him young’.

At the age of 38, it’s nothing less than marvelous that LeBron James is still a 99th-percentile NBA athlete. The reverse jam he pulled off in transition against the Grizzlies in their Game 6 demolition is proof enough.

Although he’s yet to ‘hang 40 and get Dillon Brooks’ respect’, it is clear that James has still got that extra gear. He didn’t have to activate it much against a debilitated Grizzlies roster, but he’ll definitely have to activate it at some point.

To do that, he has to feel young and fresh on the outside as well as on the inside. James has the mileage of 65,000 NBA minutes – including 10000 in the playoffs – weighing him down. He has to dig deep to keep himself in that state.

Normally, closeout-game-LeBron looks like a man on a mission to get the maximum rest he can for his next series. However, a flat performance in Memphis on the road served to put a dampener on that.

Regardless, he took care of himself with long sleeping sessions ahead of Game 6 to feel fresh. And instead of watching game tape, James revealed that he watched his son Bryce’s AAU tournament game:

“As I get older, I’ve gotta play with much younger guys. I think my boys – my sons – they keep me young.”

“Usually before games I watch film on the opponent. But Bryce actually had an AAU game, EYBL game in Phoenix tonight. Up until right about 45 minutes on the clock, I was watching his game. I was watching him go out there and seeing him play, that inspired me as well.”

Bronny and Bryce are both capable of making the NBA

Apart from world-class genetics acquired from their father’s DNA, Bronny James and his younger brother Bryce have also put in a lot of hard work to be able to shine on the high school stage.

Bronny James had a successful senior year and is still to choose from his pick of D1 programs. The 18-year-old is finalizing between his top 3 choices – USC, Oregon and Ohio State.

Bryce James, meanwhile, will kick off his junior year campaign in August this year barring injuries. The 16-year-old is already taller than his brother and is projected to be the size of a NBA 3.
