WATCH: Tilak Varma Thwacks Arshdeep Singh For Six to Avenge Stump-Breaking Bowled Dismissal
Mumbai Indians Southpaw batter Tilak Varma continues to grow in stature match-after-match, and exacted a perfect revenge against Punjab Kings pacer Arshdeep Singh tonight, thwacking him all across the park while guiding his team to a six-wicket victory in Mohali.
Having arrived at the crease during the 17th Over of the MI chase, Varma, after playing a couple of dot balls, toyed with Arshdeep as he smashed him for 16 runs in the Over.
While he ferociously pulled him for a Six on the third delivery, he perfectly anticipated the left-arm pacer to bowl a full delivery the next ball, and nailed the paddle shot over Short Fine Leg for a Four.
The Southpaw batter then stood in his crease waiting for Arshdeep’s next move, and received a slower ball into his pads, which went sailing into the deep Backward Square-leg region for a maximum.

With 12 required off the final two Overs, Arshdeep was handed the penultimate Over as well. Playing the fifth ball of the Over, Varma went down the ground this time to a full delivery, and hit a 102 meters Six over Long-off to help Mumbai seal their second-consecutive chase in excess of the 200-run mark.
As Arshdeep returned with his most expensive spell (3.5-0-66-1) in IPL history, Tilak Varma exacted his perfect revenge against the fast bowler.
For those unaware, the Punjab pacer had dismantled his middle stump – breaking it into two, during the previous match between these two sides in Mumbai.
Arshdeep had defended 16 runs in the final Over during the contest, dismissing Varma on the third delivery.
