Twitter slams Kerry O'Keefe

Twitter slams Kerry O’Keefe: Indian fans were angry on Twitter after former Australian cricketer criticized India’s domestic circuit.

During the first day of the third Test of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia at Melbourne, former Australia cricketer and current commentator Kerry O’Keefe is said to have criticized and insulted India’s First-class structure.

If reports are to be believed, it all happened during O’Keefe’s commentary stint alongside former Australia cricketers in Mark Waugh and Shane Warne.

According to fans, O’Keefe questioned debutant India opener Mayank Agarwal’s credentials in the domestic circuit by saying that his triple hundred came against a team named ‘Canteen XI’, which comprised of chefs and waiters.

Talking about Agarwal’s First-class batting average (49.98), Mark Waugh was heard saying, “His average in India is 50 which is like 40 in Australia.”

With Agarwal topping the batting charts on the first day of the third Test, it was in itself a fitting reply to the Australian commentators who questioned both his potential and the Indian domestic setup.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, India ended up scoring 215-2 in 89 overs at Stumps – Day 1. With Cheteshwar Pujara (68) and Kohli (47) unbeaten at Stumps, India would be wanting to post a formidable total on the board in the first innings.
