The Warriors suffered a narrow defeat against the Lakers in game 4, sending the series to 3-1 in the Lakers’ favor. Following the game, Stephen Curry was in the hot seat and was asked to comment on the team’s future. And, when asked about Draymond Green and Bob Myers, the four-time NBA Champion responded with a rather cold statement.

Following a successful 2022 campaign, Golden State was raring to go heading into the 2023 Playoffs. After a tough seven-game series against the Sacramento Kings, they now find themselves facing LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Safe to say, things are not going well, and after last night’s loss, tensions are high. Something that is clearly visible in Curry’s one-worded responses in the post-match press conference.

Stephen Curry was not in the mood to answer questions about Draymond Green and the Warriors’ future

The Dubs suffered a heartbreaking loss last night, losing narrowly 104-101 to the Lakers. This effectively puts Showime in the driver’s seat with a two-game advantage. And, as expected, the players were not exactly in a good mood.

In particular, Stephen Curry was quite muted in his responses.  The Warriors have a lot to think about. Draymond Green will be entering free agency but still has a player option available to him for next season. However, when one reporter asked for a comment on the future of the Warriors, Draymond, and GM Bob Myers, he had one word. No. You can see it all go down in the tweet by ‘Oh no he didn’t‘, below.

Reporter: “Draymond’s got a player option for next season, Bob Myers’ contract status is up in the air, do you allow yourself to think about the big picture—”

Steph Curry: “No.”

“Just a 3-1 series deficit?”

“Yes”

There is a lot to unfold when it comes to the Warriors here. For starters, the man they paid highly last offseason, Jordan Poole, simply can’t reach even the minimum levels expected of him. Then, of course, there is the infamous Draymond Green punch. And now, with Klay Thompson and Green clearly in a bit of a decline, this franchise’s locker room condition definitely needs addressing. Because chances are it is in shambles at the moment. Still, Stephen Curry, much like his play is on the court, is doing all that he possibly can to stay in it.

All that he is focused on is what comes next. Game 5 at the Chase Center, and if all goes well, then Game 6, back at the Crypto.com arena. Hopefully, the Dubs can pull off a comeback.

Game 5 will make or break Golden State’s 2023 season and their plans for the future

As things stand, winning is the only option from here on out for the Golden State Warriors. The organization has a lot to think about in the coming months, and Game 5 could affect these decisions. Safe to say all eyes will be on the Chase Center.

Will the Dubs prevail and surge forward toward a fifth NBA Championship? Or will their dreams come to an end, forcing them to consider reorganizing an aged and outdated roster?
