Renault and Force India get involved in funny banter after new team name announcement
Renault and Force India get involved in funny banter after announcement of the new team name Racing Point Force India.
Force India was reinstated into F1 last night as Racing Point Force India, after a middle ground between the FIA, Liberty Media and the rival teams was reached.
And while it is good news that all the mess around Force India(now Racing Point Force India) was cleared up and it will be allowed to race in all races from here on, the bad news is that they’ll starting from zero points.
This is because the Lawrence Stroll led consortium bought only the Force India assets and not the entry name, hence, coming in a with a new entry name meant that the team was forced to start with zero points but still be in line for the prize money distribution for this season.
Earlier it was feared that Force India will not be a part of the prize money distribution for this season, as rival teams hadn’t agreed to the deal.
After last night’s announcement, the Racing Point Force India social media team was at it, getting involved in some banter with the Renault F1 social media team.
The Force India team had posted about the current scenario of the team’s participation in F1 and how everything had been sorted. However, the only downside was that they would resume the season with 0 points, something that they have accepted as a challenge.
Good news: we’ll be on the grid in Spa and in every other round of the season (and beyond!), ready to fight.
Bad news: zero points.
