Shaquille O’Neal Recalls When Bulls Legend Eviscerated the Grizzlies over Petty Trash Talk
Everyone knows Michael Jordan is the greatest player to play the game of basketball. But what made him so was his unmatched competitive fire that put fear in the hearts of the opponent. It was a cardinal sin to trash-talk Mike. However, Shaquille O’Neal recently took to Instagram to share a video of a Grizzlies player talking s*it to Jordan. What followed was an evisceration of the opponent by the Bulls legend.
Despite his greatness, Michael was always searching for something extra on the court to get himself going. So, if Jordan was having an off-night, the opposing teams thanked their lucky stars and moved on. However, some just love to poke the bear. And one of them, Darrick Martin of the Vancouver Grizzlies, learned his lesson the hard way after talking trash to the legend in 1995-96.
Michael Jordan took it personally
The Michael Jordan documentary – ‘The Last Dance’, gave us an in-depth insight into Michael Jordan’s life and his quest to win six NBA championships. It also ended up giving us a meme that would go viral all across the world. The superstar’s ‘I took it personal’ quote may have turned into a meme today, but it does personify him perfectly.
In the reel shared by Shaq on his social media, Michael Jordan did exactly that. He took it personally. When Michael was having an off-night shooting 4-16 from the field, his ‘Space Jam’ co-star decided to call him out while playing against the Bulls. Here is what happened:
“We are up by 8 points. Mike is 4-16 and he is having a really rough night. So Darrick decides that because there are about 10 minutes left in the game and we are winning, he tells Mike – ‘Hey Mike! Sh*t is not falling tonight Mike. You are having an off-night Mike.’ 24 points in the last 10 minutes. Michael hits his last jump shot, Bulls go up 6 and Mike looks at the bench and says – ‘Shut up you little b*tch'”.

Only those who can walketh the walk may talketh the talk. And by god, every NBA game was like the GOAT’s own personal catwalk.
Michael Jordan could not win as an owner
Michael Jordan loved winning as much as he hated losing. As a player, he achieved all the accolades to quench his thirst for becoming a champion. So when Michael decided to purchase the Charlotte Hornets in 2010, everyone expected that same hunger to translate as an owner. Turns out, it wasn’t the case.
His team has an overall losing record with him as an owner and has never won a playoff series. During his tenure, the Hornets have reached the playoffs just twice, losing in the first round on both occasions. With all the losses around him, it’s no surprise that he has expressed his desire to sell the team.
