Ferrari chairman’s brother’s company announces Leclerc to Ferrari deal
The Leclerc to Ferrari deal was supposed to be announced yesterday as reports in the Italian media. However, no announcement came through and the F1 fraternity was left with a lot of anxiety.
Multiple reports have stated that Ferrari had informed Kimi about Leclerc’s move before the Italian GP, but Kimi’s historic qualifying lap meant that the Ferrari management could not announce the move.
However, since then reports from multiple F1 outlets have confirmed that the Leclerc move is about to happen, primarily because of Marchionne’s initial agreement with Leclerc early on in the season.
John Elkann, the new Ferrari Chairman had informed Kimi about the move on a secret call before the Monza weekend.
Now, Garage Italia, the company owned by Lapo Elkann(the brother of John Elkann came up with a post on social media yesterday, congratulating Leclerc on his move to Ferrari.
However, they later deleted the post and said that they wished it could happen soon.
So Garage Italia (founded by Lapo Elkann, the brother of John Elkann – Ferrari chairman) has congratulated Charles on the Ferrari drive on social media. Later a clarification was followed that they “wish it could happen soon”
