Helmut Marko releases official statement on rumoured Mick Schumacher approach
This ‘silly season’ has thrown a lot of surprises, with the Ricciardo to Renault move and the Raikkonen-Sauber move topping the list.
And with the driver market being so crazy this time round, another crazy rumour has been doing the rounds since last night, about Toro Rosso having approached Mick Schumacher over a possible move in 2019.
Michael Schumacher’s son Mick is reportedly being targeted for a drive in #F1 in 2019.

Schumacher just had the most perfect weekend in F3 at Nurburgring, winning all three races and cementing his position behind Dan Ticktum in the driver standings.

Red Bull motorsport advisor, Helmut Marko though has rubbished all such rumours, saying that no contact has been made with Schumacher and he isn’t in Toro Rosso’s plans for 2019.
“He’s not on our list and we have zero contact with him.” Marko said in a statement as quoted by AutoBild.
Mick Schumacher has already emphasised on the fact that he does not want to rush into F1 and wants to take the process step by step.
While F3 drivers like Verstappen and Stroll have skipped F2 and directly made the jump to F1, Schumacher wants to tread slowly.
Toro Rosso do have a lot of options for 2019, with Kyvat, Vergne and Buemi being three possible choices for the seat left vacant by Gasly’s promotion to Red Bull.
Who do you think will occupy that second seat at Toro Rosso, assuming that Hartley will get a drive next year.
