While Jaylen Brown Awaits $295,000,000 Call, Celtics’ Jayson Tatum Opens Drake’s Concert in Boston
The Boston Celtics have been relatively quiet this off-season. Apart from making a blockbuster trade for Kristaps Porzingis, The C’s have done close to nothing. That being said, some big moves could be coming soon. After all, Jaylen Brown is still awaiting a $295,000,000 call. One that could cement his position on the roster for a long time. But, while the front office has a lot to consider, their star player Jayson Tatum is living it up, conducting his golf camps, and most recently opening last night’s Drake concert in Boston.
Jaylen Brown is eligible for a supermax deal with the Celtics. Having made the All-NBA team last season, he could land a five-year, $295,000,000 contract extension. However, despite this, he is yet to receive a call or any offer on the table. Something that has many wondering what exactly the Celtics are thinking.
Jayson Tatum walked out alongside Drake to open his concert in Boston
The ESPYs took place last night, and all the stars were in attendance. LeBron James, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, and some of the NBA’s top players were there to celebrate the world of sports. However, one player who did not grace the red carpet in Los Angeles was Boston Celtics star, Jayson Tatum.
While everyone was enjoying Pat McAfee’s monologue, Tatum was in Boston. The four-time All-Star was at the TD Garden attending rap star Drake’s concert. A concert where he played a very special role.
Everyone in Boston was excited about Champagne Papi’s concert. After all, he is one of the biggest names in the rap game and an icon of this generation. But, the fans at Boston were treated to an extra special surprise when he walked onto the stage to open his performance with none other than JT himself.

Tatum sure seems to be enjoying his off-season. But, he will also be keeping a close eye on the Celtics’ front office. Why? Well, the team has a lot to do before the start of the 2023-2024 season. Especially if they have plans to add an 18th banner to the rafters with this roster.
The Boston Celtics have had a rather quiet off-season thus far
There is no doubt, that Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics will be looking to return to the NBA Finals next year. Having failed to do so last season, the Celtics have a lot to do before the regular season kicks off. That being said, the front office has been rather quiet so far, only making a few moves here and there.
While they have brought in Kristaps Porzingis, the C’s have lost key players like Marcus Smart and Grant Williams. And, with Jaylen Brown’s $295,000,000 contract hanging over their heads, one has to wonder if as things stand, the Celtics are ready to make a run.
The Celtics reportedly intend to extend Jaylen Brown his supermax contract, but negotiations are still underway and without a clear end. What’s the hold up?@GeorgeBalekji |#Celtics |https://t.co/HgxyXHaLLP pic.twitter.com/VnPnvWh5NC

It will be interesting to see how things progress in Boston in the coming weeks. Whether or not they will be ready once the season begins? Only time will tell.
