Mercedes have a surprise for Red Bull
Red Bull did not have the perfect qualifying yesterday, with Max Verstappen damaging his suspension after running over a kerb.
The incident took place during Q1 when Verstappen was scurrying through Turn 15. Upon further investigation it was revealed that Verstappen had damaged the rear wishbone of his car.
Verstappen and Red Bull were bemused that such a damage took place on the car, as Verstappen hadn’t done anything different than what he had been doing in the last two years, or anything different to what the other drivers were doing on the kerb yesterday.
“We also drove like that the last two years and again today was all fine, so it is really unexpected. Everything was well within the limits of everything, so there was nothing crazy.
“As you can see, everyone else was doing it as well. So, that is why we are a little bit amazed how it happened.” Verstappen said.
Verstappen thus will be starting the race from P15, as he bowed out during Q1, following the damage to the car.
Things were looking bleak for Red Bull, but they could be in for something worse today when they enter the garage as a skunk broke into it last night after qualifying.
Mercedes posted about the same and warned Red Bull about a weird smell coming from their garage on race day.

Will the skunk bring Red Bull good luck for raceday or will it cause further destruction?
