WATCH: Shikhar Dhawan’s outstanding dive saves five runs for India
Shikhar Dhawan’s outstanding dive: The Indian openers’ full-length dive saw him saving five runs for the team.
During the third T20I of the ongoing Windies’ tour of India at Chennai, Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan put in a desperate dive to stop a ball from going for a six. In which was also a potential but really hard chance of taking a catch, Dhawan did exceptionally well to save five runs for his team.
It happened on the third delivery of the sixth over when Windies’ Shai Hope hit a Krunal Pandya delivery towards the deep mid-wicket region. Having hit a six off the last ball, the batsman was perhaps trying to capitalize on the last over of the powerplay.
However, Dhawan’s effort restricted the batsman to a single run. With Shimron Hetmyer hitting a six down the ground off Pandya in the same over, Windies had scored 51 runs in the powerplay. Watch the full video below:

After an impressive powerplay, Windies’ batsmen failed to up the ante as they could only score 16 runs in the next four overs. What hurt them more was the dismissal of both their openers in Hope (24) and Hetmyer (26).
Earlier, Windies’ captain Carlos Brathwaite had won the toss and chose to bat. The visitors had fielded an unchanged playing eleven. On the other hand, India made two changes to their winning combination, bringing in Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal in place of Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah.
