Lakers and LeBron want Ariza to return to LA
Ariza has been plying his trade in Phoenix after he moved there following his 4 year stint with the rockets. The veteran has already played for Lakers in the past and was part of the championship winning team in 2009.
With the Lakers looking to bolster their shooting, something that will immensely help LeBron in how he wants the team to function, Ariza could be the perfect fit.
Earlier, reports had emerged that LeBron wanted Melo to sign up for the Lakers, but the report did not turn out to be true and the Lakers are still in search of an experienced shooter.
Ariza clearly fits the bill and should be of massive help to LeBron, as the duo can then together use their experience to mentor the Lakers squad.

Any trade for Trevor Ariza would most likely involve KCP. Just for comparison here are a couple of their per game stats this year. #LakeShow
Ariza: 9.7 pts, 5.7 rebs, 3.3 asts, 1.3 steals, 34.8% 3PT, 81.6% FT
KCP: 8.5 pts, 2.3 rebs, .5 asts, .8 steals, 34% 3PT, 92.6% FT

The Ariza deal will be part of a larger three team deal, one where Lakers will do away with Caldwell-Pope.
Now, while Caldwell-Pope has a veto on his trade, ESPN reports that Lakers should be able to work out a deal with his agent, one where he gets a bigger role and more minutes in a different team.
The Suns are desperate for a deal as they are 4-22 following the first six games and want to cash in on Ariza, as he is the most prized trade asset at the moment.
If Suns and the Lakers are able to find that third team in the deal, Suns would be hoping to get a guard alongside Devin Booker, who needs to be used in more of a shooting role.

Lakers would be hoping that Ariza’s return brings a breath of fresh air, helps them sort out their current problems and maybe helps them win another NBA title.
But for now, the two teams need to find a third team to complete the deal.
Very notable details in here, including:
-KCP seems willing to waive his no-trade clause if he’s going somewhere where his role will be expanded
-Suns want a “playmaking guard” and a draft pick for Ariza https://t.co/gD1qepPHaf— adam (@SixersAdam) December 10, 2018
Do you think the deal will go through?
