Kohli and Paine involved in verbal clash: Both the captains were seen going at each other during the third day of the second Test.

During the fourth day of the second Test of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia at Perth,  Australia captain Tim Paine and India captain Virat Kohli were both seen exchanging verbals with each other.

In a banter which started yesterday, it was witnessed in action today as well. As told by Australia off-spinner Nathan Lyon yesterday, both the captains were having a go at each other. “Tim was just asking where he [Kohli] is going for dinner…” Lyon was quoted as saying during the press conference yesterday.

Desperate for wickets, perhaps it was in a bid to make the batsman do something silly that Kohli was constantly seen in Paine’s ears. The Indian captain seemed to have made it a point to try every possible way to get his counterpart out.

While Australia might have only scored 58 runs in the morning session today, the fact that they didn’t lose any wicket counts for a lot. With a lead of 233 runs and with six wickets remaining, they have a real chance of pushing India out of the match.

The banter between the two captains started when Kohli almost came in the way of Paine, who was in the process of completing a run. Both of them were constantly seen as going at each other since then.

Eventually, umprie Chris Gaffaney had to interfere between them, laying emphasis on the fact that both of them are captain and that they should lead by example. At this, both the players were of the opinion that they aren’t swearing at each other and are just having a conversation.

“Keep your cool, Virat,” Paine was heard as saying on the stump mic after Gaffaney asked him to not indulge in any such conversation.
