MS Dhoni’s six vs Australia: Dhoni hits monstrous six in second ODI vs Australia
MS Dhoni’s six vs Australia: The Indian wicket-keeper rolled back the years as India cruised to victory by six wickets in the second ODI.
India made a strong comeback after the defeat in the first ODI as the side cruised to a six-wicket win in the second game at Adelaide.
Earlier, Australia won the toss and chose to bat first, putting 299 on the board. Mohammad Siraj made his ODI debut for India in the game, replacing Khaleel Ahmed.
However, Virat Kohli ended the Aussie hopes as he shined with the bat. The Indian captain scored his 39th ODI century, before MS Dhoni finished the game in the final over of the game. The Indian wicket-keeper also completed his half-century in the match.
The last ODI of the series will be played in Melbourne.
MS Dhoni’s six vs Australia:
With seven runs to win in the final over of the match, MS Dhoni hit a six off Behrendorff on the very first ball to seal the game in India’s favour.
The Indian wicket-keeper scored a half-century in the first ODI, but was criticised by various fans and experts alike for his slow innings.
However, Dhoni complimented Virat Kohli effectively as the duo orchestrated the run-chase in the second game at Adelaide.
The former Indian captain remained not out on 54, while Dinesh Karthik, who arrived after Kohli’s dismissal late in the innings, contributed 25 off 14 balls.
Earlier, Rohit Sharma scored 43, while Shikhar Dhawan scored 32 in 28 deliveries. Ambati Rayudu had yet another disappointing afternoon with the bat, as India’s number four could score only 24 runs in 36 deliveries.

Twitter, quite justifiably, went crazy with Dhoni’s performance:

Wonderful innings from Virat. Dhoni and Karthik finishing it in style. Will need more matches with 4-5-6 playing handy match-winning knocks. pic.twitter.com/YHdwJ0G59X— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) January 15, 2019
Irrespective of whether Dhoni is a spent force or not, and whether he should play the World Cup, every now and again he produces a master class on how to pace an innings.
If any of that runs off on the kids coming into the squad, we are a better team because of it.— if Shrikant, who can? (@HomerOpines) January 15, 2019
Excellent reading of the game today by Dhoni. Karthik in the end made it easy for him but it was yet another Masterclass by Kohli that made the difference .

Even after getting criticize left, right and center, MS Dhoni just waved his hand and accepted the applause of the fans in the stadium. No fancy celebrations and aggression.
