Michael Jordan is embracing his new role in the NBA as the owner of a franchise. MJ has been visiting games and speaking to his players behind the scenes in order to help build a good enough base for the Hornets.

Kemba Walker has been brilliant for the team and has been plugging away with some good performances, but the Hornets have a long way to go before they can really challenge teams during the business end of the season.

With the All-Star weekend being in Charlotte, all eyes have been turned to Michael Jordan and how the All-Star weekend will be hosted in the town whose franchise he owns.

Charlotte forward Marvin Williams was quizzed about how it is to play for a team that is owned by the greatest basketball player of all time.

The NBA fraternity knows how MJ leads his team on the court, especially when he was a player, but his ‘owner method’ isn’t quite known to people.

Williams has admitted that things aren’t how people expect them to be with Jordan. A lot of people think that playing for MJ could be a little too hard for players, but Williams has conceded that it is quite the opposite.

“It’s actually really cool. It’s not like people think,” Williams said as quoted by USA Today.

“For the most part from what I hear, most people think it’s a lot tougher playing for him than it really is. He’s the total opposite.” he added.

Williams emphasised on how Jordan has asked the team to really compete on court and not really worry about wins or losses. MJ’s philosophy has always been about competing and letting the wins and losses take care of themselves.

“He just wants you to compete” Williams said.

“That’s not a lot to ask. If you compete, he’s going to live with the wins and the losses.” he added.

Michael Jordan too spoke to the media ahead of the All-Star weekend, talking about how Harden’s and Westbrook’s streaks don’t rate as high as his streak of 6 NBA titles in 6 NBA finals.

He then spoke about how he was looking forward to the weekend despite it making him feel old.

“It is a constant reminder that I am getting old,” Jordan said.

“The All-Star Game is always around my birthday … but it is a constant reminder that the game is evolving, I’m evolving as a person. It is the one time where I can bring everyone in and celebrate and enjoy the game of basketball all at the same time. I am looking forward to it.” he added.
