Dhoni races with Shane Watson and Imran Tahir: The Chennai Super Kings captain was seen enjoying with kids after win vs KXIP.

During the 18th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab at Chennai, Chennai Super Kings defeated Kings XI Punjab by 22 runs to register their fourth IPL 2019 victory.

Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the 14th over, Dhoni showed first signs of aggression after he hit Punjab all-rounder Sam Curran for a six over deep mid-wicket on the second ball of the 19th over. In the same over, Dhoni hit a couple of fours to score 19 runs in the penultimate over.

CSK skipper ended up scoring 37* (23) with the help of four fours and a six. Opening batsman Faf du Plessis top-scored for CSK after registering his 10th IPL half-century. He scored 54 (38) with the help of two fours and four sixes. With bowling figures of 4-0-23-3, Kings XI captain Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts.

After finishing the innings well for his team, Dhoni’s astute captaincy saw him successfully defending the total. The manner in which he used the available resources especially his spinners remains unmatched in the tournament.

In Harbhajan Singh, Ravindra Jadeja and Imran Tahir, CSK spinners conceded only 61 runs in the 12 overs that they bowled. For his exceptional bowling figures of 4-1-17-2, Harbhajan Singh was awarded the Man of the Match.

After registering victory, Dhoni was seen in a racing bout with CSK opening batsman Shane Watson and leg-spinner Imran Tahir’s sons. After entering the frame from behind, Dhoni runs alongside the kids only to lift Imran Tahir’s son and run back to the finishing line.
