Will Aaron Rodgers Throw for 300+ Yards Against the Patriots? Chris Broussard Firmly Says “Zero Chance”
Jets star QB Aaron Rodgers wants to throw for 400 yards against the Patriots. However, Chris Broussard doesn’t think the 40-year-old quarterback can do it.
Ahead of the Jets vs Patriots Week 2 clash, Rodgers’ revealed to Pat McAfee that he wished to throw for 400 yards. However, the reality paints a grim picture because Rodgers has not been able to cross the 300-yard mark in his last 24 games.
But can he finally break that streak this season?
According to Broussards’ evaluation of the situation, Rodgers may have high hopes for the Jets but the focus is not just about the yards. Efficiency is key here, per the analyst.
Moreover, he pointed out that Rodgers not achieving a 300-yard game for a while now makes it quite improbable, especially against the Pats’ defense, and confidently stated that there is “zero chance” of Rodgers reaching that milestone.
Nick Wright brought up the projected passing yardage for Rodgers—215.5 yards.
“You don’t think he’ll throw for 300 tonight, do you?” he pressed Broussard. To which, the latter’s comment was a clear “No.”
Given the current situation, Wright felt that the team’s win is more important for the Jets than targetting yards, and Rodgers’ efficiency in managing the game would matter the most and certainly not his stats.
Even if the Jets win, it doesn’t matter if Rodgers doesn’t hit that 300-yard mark, Wright argued. However, if both happen, it could be a potential double victory.
Rodgers had 341 passing yards against the Bears on December 12, 2021–that’s the last time the 40-year-old QB threw for 300+ yards.
