DC vs RCB Man of the Match: Who was awarded Man of the Match in DC vs RCB?
DC vs RCB Man of the Match: Delhi Capitals star batsman was declared the ‘Man of the Match’ for his game-changing innings.
During the 46th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Delhi, Delhi Capitals defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 16 runs to register their eighth IPL 2019 victory and qualify for the playoffs of the tournament.
Chasing a 188-run target, Royal Challengers got off to a brisk start on the back of 63-run opening stand between wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel and captain Virat Kohli. However, the next seven overs saw them losing half their side.
In what seemed like another batting collapse for the visitors, Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Marcus Stoinis provided a rescue act to Bangalore. Stitching a 49-run partnership for the sixth wicket, the pair gave hopes of sneaking a victory but the former getting out in the penultimate over made things difficult for them.
Eventually, RCB scored 171/7 in 20 overs. Parthiv Patel scored 39 (20) with the help of seven fours and a six to top-score for his team. Veteran spinner Amit Mishra (4-0-29-2) was the highest wicket-taker for DC.

After Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat, the hosts posted a formidable 187/5 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Iyer, who came in to bat at No. 3 in the fourth over, top-scored for his team scoring 52 (37) with the help of two fours and three sixes.
Capitals’ innings blossomed on the back of a 68-run partnership for the second wicket between opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan and Iyer. Before getting out in the 13th over, Dhawan registered his 37th IPL half-century. The southpaw scored 50 (37) with the help of five fours and two sixes.

Taking on the opposition bowlers from the word go, Dhawan was declared the ‘Man of the Match’ for yet another responsible knock. “Very happy with this award, to be honest I didn’t expect it. Much more happy that our team is No. 1, we’ll celebrate tonight.
“It was intentional to bat faster and am glad that I did. I am enjoying smacking the ball over the boundary. I want to be positive and keep scoring runs in the remaining games,” Dhawan was quoted as saying during the post-match presentation ceremony.
